June Programs at the Library

The fun never stops at the library this summer!

Lost in the Library Mondays
Look for different arts and crafts supplies lost in the library! First one to find it, wins a prize! Monday mornings: June 1-August 3 (Ages 5-12)

Family Movie Night Dance in with the family for some popcorn, a movie and some quality time together! Now showing: Bedtime Stories - A family comedy about a hotel
handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true. Monday, June 1st at 6:30pm (All ages)

Lapsit Story Time for Babies Gentle baby friendly fun with rhymes, songs, books and other toys. Wednesdays June 3 – 24 at 10:30am (Ages Birth – 18mo with parent/caregiver)

Summer Reading Kick Off with The PRINCESS of Dutch Wonderland! Hear ye, hear ye, all young princes and princesses! Take this opportunity to sign up for summer reading and join us for stories, crafts and snacks. Costumes welcome! Special surprise guest Otto the Dog (storybook character) too! Altered Books ~ Mimi Shapiro, Book Artist and Poet Have you ever gotten so frustrated with your homework you wanted to rip your school books apart? Well that’s not exactly what we are doing, but take this opportunity to do things to books you were never aloud to do before! Come prepared to cut, glue, write, color, collage and more. Start with a book and create a portable art exhibit of your very own! Friday, June 12 at 2:00pm (Ages 11 and up)

Special Family Movie Night Bring your friends and your dolls to this American Girl Family Movie Night and see “Chrissa Stands Strong,” the newest American Girl movie. Monday, June 15th at 6:30pm (Family)

Thursday Gaming Night Play video games on a HUGE screen and meet some new friends! The library provides an X-box 360 and Wii plus Rock Band, Wii Sports and Mario Kart. Play our games or bring your own! Thursday: June 18 4:00 -8:00 pm (Ages 7 & Up)

Books to Movies Club Each week we’ll read a few chapters from the book “Bridge to Terabithia” while exploring activities, crafts and snacks that relate. We’ll keep a journal of our thoughts along the way. Parents, this is a good program for kids to practice their writing and analyzing skills. On the last day we’ll watch the movie and compare! Fridays: June 19 - July 31 (No July 3) at 2:00 pm (Gr. 3-7)

LEGO® Competition Compete with other kids your age to build the best LEGO® creation. Details TBD. Saturday, June 20 at 10:30 am (Ages 8 – 18)

Story Times Come for themed stories, songs and crafts. 3’s on Mondays: June 22 – July 27. 4 and 5’s on Tuesdays: June 23 – July 28. 18mo – 3’s (with an adult) Fridays: June 26 – July 31. All at 10:30am.

Learn how he gets his ideas for writing and discover fun facts about Lancaster County you may not know! Author books for sale and signing. Monday June 22 at 2:00pm (Ages 8 & up)
